I've been gone for such a long time. I'm sorry. My life has been really, amazingly busy. I've gone home to Michigan, had an amazing bridal shower, worked quite a bit, and had an amazing time frolicking in the Cascade Mountains.
We were in the mountains this weekend. In the Mt. Baker Skykomish National Forest. It was pretty much the best weekend ever. Full of debaucery and hedonism and enligtenment. Also, AMAZING scenery. We went up on Friday (a little late) after Dr. Boyfriend got off of work, we drove up to meet Lou-Lou ,Spike and Spike's buddy who got up there on Thursday
I forgot my camera and never made it into town to get a new one. I fail on that, but I WILL be going back up there, so pictures will be here.
...eventually...
I have some amazing stories from this trip. Some very crazy ones that I may only share with a few, some interesting personal discovery that I might never share with anyone and some stores that I think maybe everyone might enjoy. I think I'll try to share one a day this week. Starting tomorrow. I'm going to bed.

wedding things!
I'm making wedding stuff today! I'm making swallow buttons as favors, using the button machine that my family got me for my birthday this year. I'll probably post photos of them later.
I'm also thinking about making my fascinator.
I'd like to make one before I go, so when I'm home and I have my dad's (the fly tying teacher's) feather collection at my fingertips, I may find that I have more options for feathers, as I don't know if the selection from the craft store is really going to fly. (no pun intended.)
I was inspired for the idea for a fascinator by the folks at Offbeat Bride, who posted a gem of a photo.
I'm so excited for my wedding. I can hardly wait.

Weekend, continued.
We were supposed to go to the CD release show for CLR. As we pulled in, we noticed an awful lot of people LEAVING the venue, which seemed odd. As we walked up, we caught up with one of the guys from the band, who informed us that there was no power, and the show was relocating to the CLR house.
So we relocated with it.
The evening was pretty entertaining. It included several awkward conversations with people, (my specialty!) as well as royally pissing off some Taco Time employees (have you ever walked in two minutes before closing, proclaiming "No! I think we should eat here!" and watch the anger pass over their faces? It's PRICELESS. I'm sure we had some additional mucous-based ingredients in our food, but I don't think anyone really cared that much.)
In addition to the band playing a killer basement set, the band also had one of the most impressive piles of garbage I've ever seen, and also managed to figure out an amazingly good way to guard the beer. From EVERYONE. Thanks for your hospitality, guys. The CD sounds great.
Support your local farmers!
I went to the Broadway farmers market yesterday. I failed to bring my camera and take pictures. I also failed to take pictures when I got home. I would take them now, except the compound has already pretty much consumed the bounty that was the farmer's market haul.
The Haul:
1 1/2 # rainier cherries
3 pints raspberries
3 pints blueberries
3 heirloom tomatoes
1 cucumber
I was going to buy more veggies, but I sort of ran out of money...It's tough being a girl on a budget.
I also bought a smoothie and a couple of bagels, and S and I shared it for a late breakfast.
We ate a bunch of the berries throughout the day, then some of the cherries for dinner.
Speaking of dinner, it was pretty good too. Home made Mac'n'cheese, bean salad with the tomatoes and cucumber from the farmer's market and fried chicken from the safeway deli.
I think there are blueberry muffins in my very near future.
...or will that be blueberry pancakes and eggs for dinner?
In other news, We went to a great party this weekend...But I think I'll make a post about that later.

The first post in a blog...This is always like the first page of a blank journal- sort of tough to write. I'd post more about what I intend to do with this blog, but I don't quite know yet. It'll evolve as we go along. At the moment, It's probably going to be a place to post recipes, show off craft projects and share some of the strange stories of a 24 year old Seattle punk with an affinity for pets, perversion, plants and being a pain in the ass. (Also, alliteration. I'm emily, and I have an alliteration problem...)
